100 Days in the Council

100 Days in the Council
How do you talk to politicians in a way that is honest, human, and engaging? Three courageous young women from Jelgava Municipality put this into practice by creating 10 podcasts with members of the Jelgava Municipality Council! 🙌
This project became a true masterclass in communication — a school of listening, openness, and courage. The young women shared that these conversations helped them overcome fear of authority, speak with respect, and allow conversations to flow naturally, revealing the real person behind the official title.
💡 The conversations were hosted by: Baiba Strika, Katrīna Brika-Dravniece, and Eva Valtere — a heartfelt thank you to all of you for your time, energy, and warmth! 🙌
They shared:
"Before this, we thought that council members were very serious and unapproachable, but during the conversations we realized — they are just like us. With a sense of humor, everyday concerns, and a desire to do good for people."
These conversations prove that dialogue has power — when we talk with each other rather than past one another, understanding, trust, and the desire to build a stronger Jelgava Municipality together emerge. 💚
